I spent the past several weeks doing a deep dive of corporate pac influence in policy and electoral races starting with a case study in Michigan’s 4th district. Whether directly funding candidates or using leadership pacs to route funds to candidates, american citizens lose the ability to participate in the decisions that impact their cities. Right now, in part of the ongoing discussions around data centers—many Michiganders are saying no while democrat and republican alike are saying yes anyway. In collaboration with Diop Harris of the 4th District, we studied why and compiled the files for everyone to see.
