I love non-spaces like this. Why is it there? If it's truly for a sitting area, why is it slightly elevated? Is it a vestigial piece of a previous shop/store/space? What's really going on here?

I like to try to imagine the big, optimistic, likely short sighted and naive personality that drives little features like this through a committee And then the process of credulity breaking down as custodians have to live with the reality, and kids abuse it, and its original intention is forgotten So many stories
