X Layer is an Ethereum-based Layer 2 network launched by OKX in November 2023. Built using the Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK) and incorporating zero-knowledge proof (ZK) technology, it aims to provide users with an efficient, low-cost, and secure blockchain interaction experience. Since its testnet launch, X Layer has rapidly attracted over 200 decentralized applications (dApps) across sectors such as DeFi, NFTs, gaming, and SocialFi. The "PP Upgrade" in August 2025 further enhanced X Layer's performance, reaching 5,000 transactions per second (TPS) with near-zero gas fees, laying a solid foundation for large-scale user adoption.
