The Bitcoin Pi Cycle Top indicator had successfully marked the 4 major tops in available $BTC price history. A top signal would flash whenever the faster moving average, 111D SMA, crosses above the slower moving average, 350D SMA * 2.
How this works is basically detecting euphoria. When the faster moving average pumps enough to cross the much longer moving average, it typically means that price had moved too quickly and will likely need to cool-off as it is generally difficult to maintain such momentum over a long time.
