"Some insects threatened by parasites speed up their reproductive cycle. It has been suggested that sexual reproduction itself developed as a defence against parasites. Despite billions of dollars invested in blockchain systems, nobody has yet developed one that reproduces sexually."

commit-reveal is a common pattern in smart contracts to avoid front running in oracles. But sometimes even committing is enough signal that people can copy without compensating the oracle provider. I was thinking how to avoid this and the solution seems to split the commit and reveal in separate contracts. Make the commitment in a stealth address (deploy contract as a commitment to a fresh address) and later point to it in a public reveal contract triggering any on-chain actions. https://medium.com/@edmundedgar/the-parasite-and-the-whale-7cb3c87e9902 reminds me of @edmundedgar.eth 's post on the parasite and the whale.

> LP sandwich attacks you can't profitably sandwich removal of LP right? the only reason it works when adding LP is backrunning trades at a better price with deeper liquidity but when withdrawing LP, there's shallower liquidity and therefor backrunning has a worse price?

can someone explain to why I shouldn't use infinite "slippage" when withdrawing LP? https://github.com/Uniswap/v3-periphery/blob/0682387198a24c7cd63566a2c58398533860a5d1/contracts/NonfungiblePositionManager.sol#L275 uni v3 sdk uses 50 bips https://github.com/Uniswap/examples/blob/733d586070afe2c8cceb35d557a77eac7a19a656/v3-sdk/modifying-position/src/example/Example.tsx#L115C28-L115C47 "slippage" check is useless. "front running" can't hurt LPs withdrawing (as long as current pool price is correct?)

Any place I want to live long term needs to have rich food culture. All I need is 3 good friends and good food culture to live somewhere forever.

How do cast limits work? So you paid $5 to Dan and v’s multisig so your bot gets 5000 casts? Past the limit it’s FIFO? Dropping old casts?

Huh, curious to see LA is so sprawling your social circle subdivides. Someone told me dating across east, west of the city is like a long distance relationship

Older generations in Taiwan seem supportive of the CCP as well. Interesting generational divides. In the US it’s mostly young college age liberals in coastal elite cities who support communist ideas

Older generations of Romanians romanticize communist times. . . Everyone had jobs. Poland is going through big economic growth, romania in contrast not so much. Romania privatized industry haphazardly. . . Not sure if the result is as extreme as the oligarchs in Russia who took advantage of privatization

Tbh summer in Japan is terrible. I know Japan is very popular these days and yen is weak, but July is literally worst time of year. So humid and hot, people forget Japan is sub tropical

How do you validate the data? Web of trust? Privacy is a tough one. . . Sequence alignment and stats without revealing the underlying data. . . Maybe zk tech is progressing fast enough

One of my several issues with far/warpcast. . . It’s exit over voice There’s not a single open source mobile client as opposed to Bluesky and nostr I hear jack is disappointed w Bluesky bc they raised vc capital and formed a corp vs nostr more organic What do you think of nostr?
