the first computer my family owned was a Packard Bell 286 with 640 KB of RAM and 40 MB hard drive and a 16 color EGA monitor they didn’t come with mice back then as they were not needed to use the computer, but we bought one separately to plug into the serial port

I’ll give away my age with this… a Radio Shack TRS-80. No disc drive. It used cassette tapes.
