I would like to recommend the best book I have read recently, "A Brief History of Intelligence". The author Max Bennett is not a scholar or biological expert, but an entrepreneur and AI expert. He co-founded Bluecore, an AI company valued at over one billion US dollars. I think this "Brief History of Intelligence" can be compared with Yuval Harari's "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind". It surveys the evolution of intelligence from the perspective of Earth's creatures. The book establishes a new framework for describing the evolution of biological brains, which the author calls "five breakthroughs". This has great reference value for current research on AI and embodied intelligence.
