Reindeer can see ultraviolet light, something humans cannot. In the Arctic, where everything is covered in snow, UV vision helps reindeer spot predators and food more easily. Snow reflects UV light strongly, while things like wolf fur or lichen absorb it and appear darker. This gives reindeer a hidden visual advantage in an environment that looks almost completely white to us.
