Pear Inspiration. When Nature Decided to Have a Laugh. Sometimes it feels like nature has a great sense of humor. Take, for example, a pear that suddenly decided to take on a rather unusual shape. Looking at this "fruit sculpture," it’s hard not to smile—it seems like it’s dressed up for a party in a costume that will have everyone talking. For botanists it’s just a pear. For everyone else, it’s a reason to wonder if fruit can have a personality. For artists it's inspiration for a still life that definitely won’t go unnoticed. For gardeners it's a reminder that sometimes you should just trust nature and not prune everything—who knows, you might grow a masterpiece! It’s nature in creative mode!

Sometimes vegetables and fruits take on unusual shapes, perhaps because they are not interested in being standard.
