Evening all, so what is everyone thinking regarding increasing the gas limits?

Raising to 40M seems to be getting a lot of support. I have just changed my Nethermind client to target 40M but would be keen to hear some more views and opinions

Have reverted back for now, I didn't clock 4844 is already going to effectively be a 10m  gas limit rise...seems wise to do these separately

There is no need to rush and increase the gas limit on Ethereum. Let's have a few discussions about it and weight the pros and cons.

I would wait it out and see what the general consensus is.

I honestly don't understand what the motivation behind the support is. It increases burdens on validators with (afaict) no meaningfully permanent improvement to end users. Who is pushing for this and why?
