Solana (SOL), one of the cryptocurrency sector’s largest altcoins, is preparing to implement the Alpenglow upgrade, a proposal that will reduce transaction finality on the network from almost 12 seconds to 150 milliseconds. The Alpenglow upgrade has already received over 99% validator support, according to data from Staking Facilities. If the upgrade is implemented as intended, it will provide a hundredfold speed increase for Solana. While this upgrade and the innovations it brings are expected to have a positive impact on the Solana price, MEXC Research chief analyst Shawn Young shared his price predictions for SOL. Speaking to Decrypt, Shawn Young noted that the Alpenglow upgrade, along with possible ETF approval and increased institutional adoption, could be positive for Solana’s price.
