I’ve tried out a lot of L1 blockchains over the years, and most of them start to feel the same after a while. You hear the usual promises about speed, scaling, and innovation, but when you look closely it’s often just the same idea repackaged with new branding. Alephium stood out to me because it didn’t feel like that. It actually solves problems in a way that makes sense when you break it down. A lot of scalable chains usually force you into picking between real decentralization or high performance. Alephium manages to stay balanced, and the way it handles sharding makes the whole approach cleaner without adding unnecessary complexity. Another thing I really liked is Proof-of-Less-Work. Instead of throwing PoW away and replacing it with something untested, Alephium improves on it. Same security principles, but with lower energy use and better efficiency. It’s simple, but it works, and that caught my attention more than any headline feature.
