What's the point of closed-source tech companies when open-source is a clear positive-sum game? I think most closed-source companies working on societal scale issues will cease to exist due to sheer commercial reasons, if not anything else. In the past, there weren't effective mechanisms to monetize open-source, but now we do, and at scale.

Is d/acc (decentralized acceleration) making a point that most techno-optimists are missing?
