The elite talent filter is brutal
Winning IPhO gold (or even qualifying for the US team) puts you in roughly the top ~0.0001% of your age cohort globally in raw problem-solving horsepower. Very few people have that level of abstract reasoning + work ethic + early exposure to push through years of intense math/physics training as a teenager. Most crypto founders come from programming, entrepreneurship, finance, or just "vibes/marketing" backgrounds—not Olympiad-level physics.
