Who in the netherlands can explain how y'all came around to Signal? nice! also why the f is everyone using TEMU as most downloaded app wtf?! at least switzerland, austria and a few have ChatGPT as most downloaded and Italy seems so old they just discovered TIkTok? like is it 2017 in Italy? Now I want to see the same map but for US states

Very interesting. I'm not on Signal myself, but as far as I can judge from my Dutch media consumption, it has a lot to do with 2 things: 1 - part of it is the conspiracy theorists who, especially since corona, don't feel they can trust the mainstream anything anymore 2 - a second wave is the absolute disgust for the way Musk went like a blind elephant in a porcelain cabinet with politics. Not just in the US, but also spreading fake news in Europe. So, there's part of turning your back to Twitter and Tesla.

Temu makes a lot of sense to me. Amazon stores often add absurd fees, like literally the same item you can get in Asia for 1$ might cots 10-15$ in German's Amazon. Plus, overall feeling that most people in Berlin can't really afford much stuff makes it even more reasonable

About Temu there are some schemes to buy items at very favorable prices for new accounts. At least in Ukraine I have seen offers where people were paid a small amount of money for installing the app and placing the first order with the required products.

I don't know why but it seems a lot of people here in The Netherlands were ready to ditch WhatsApp. When I brought up the subject in our neighborhood's WA-group a huge amount of people, like 33-50%, were ready to move to the Signal group.
