Wondering if we've succumb to all apps being distributed systems by now. "microservices have eaten apps" in that sense. yes there are great client only apps still around, but most servers have external dependencies and may have a db not on the same system or state distributed otherwise and boom you've just constructed an architecture of 2 microservices at least if not more. so you've built a distributed system? even if it masks to you as a single deployment (do you have replicas? backups? fail over? external services?)
