It is a tough nut! I was briefly part of a community wanting to set up a 'value exchange' platform/protocol (?) to capture the unpaid value that occurs within the startup ecosystem. So, intros, pitch reviews all things that people do just because they are helpful, but value doesn't come back for that specific work.
