So Farcaster is the protocol, and Base is an app that utilizes the social layer that Farcaster the protocol enables, but there’s also a Farcaster app that utilizes the same permisionless protocol, but Base is actually an Ethereum L2 started by Coinbase and Farcaster actually runs on Snapchain, which is basically a Layer3 on Optimism but not really, and the Base L2 is also running on Optimism rails.
