The fire came without warning
no escape, no voice, just heat.
So I stayed.
Sat with the burning,
felt it strip me down
to what could not leave.
Some suffering doesn’t pass
you endure it.
And in that quiet endurance,
something remains:
not unbroken,
but still here.
