I hope that cultured meat / fish will address this effectively in the long-term by being cheap and palatable enough so that fishing cannot economically compete with it at scale.
There are a few companies working on this:
- Wild Type (salmon)
- Blue Nalu (tuna)
- Finless Foods
- Sea2Cell
