Hmm - curious what dao experiments they have in mind, agree that it's a tough space, feels like there are individual projects there that are definitely very cool and +sum for legitimacy I'd also be excited about a smaller, scaled down version of Nouns Grants that works towards a vision of Nouns as a publishing house

In your best words what's the direction that voters opposed to Nouns Grants are pushing for? I haven't been able to piece anything together from a quick scan of the Discord, is it just maintaining the treasury and smaller spends that are "at cost" for the DAO?

we tried using ipfs from the browser initially too, but it didn't really work because peer topologies change too fast for the dht (chrome nerfs background tabs). so you need to sync to a server, which breaks many trust assumptions unless you sync signed data if you have a desktop app, iroh is excellent, it's low-level but great for things like syncing video / large files but otherwise that leaves cryptographically authenticated sync engines like @canvas - we have something that's worked well in a few very custom environments (300k row db for common.xyz). now polishing up the out-of-the-box dev experience + doing a ton of iterations based on dev feedback. there will be a couple of production apps using it by end of june. it's possible to use for apps with small data now! eg https://forum-example.canvas.xyz/ was two hours / 50 LOC to set up

Idea: a market for buying into accounts’ profile pics on Farcaster - Buy into someone’s pfp on a bonding curve - Price goes up as others buy, *or* over time as their pfp stays the same - Every time someone switches their pfp, backing assets are used to buy into the new pfp
