I have an extremely hard time believing that those interested in UATX already were then disappointed by a message saying they’re not gonna do woke classes

The converse of this is the bill gets bigger and bigger until it has something for every single rep and it’s worse for everybody long term…I see both sides but don’t think it’s necessarily better to always serve your constituents specific interests at the cost of everybody at large

I don’t know what the right thing is here other than mandating separate issues in separate bills and idk how to enforce that I don’t really blame them for making cost benefit choices here but it’s a huge bug that they have to

Star Wars basically gave up on being sci-fi. They have their own paradigm and rules and just don’t deviate at all from that or add new stuff. The whole narrative is extremely trapped and they could be adding way more

People online latch on to one specific thing and quote tweet and go this you? Or whatever and that’s fine but the real mistake is letting a dunk completely inform your opinion like that

It is funny a lot of people really soured on Balaji after his bitcoin/dollar bet thing but when you zoom out he’s roughly correct on pretty much every big trend in the world and you see small examples of this weekly

Specifically, the impoundment control act of 1974 is obviously unconstitutional and violates Article II, and not explicitly, but violates the spirit of Article I Look at the text in Article I: “No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law” Does that sound like they are mandating or approving spending?

There’s about 200 years of legal back and forth in between, but it’s not at all clear to me that, based on the founders’ ideas of government spending, there is any limit the executive’s ability to *cut* spending The historical context (after Charles I) clearly suggests that delegating spending power to Congress was not for them to impose it, but to verify and allow spending by the executive

I didn’t really know what NPR was until I went to college where people would listen to it like they read the New York Times - performatively to know what opinions they should have

The area I grew up in still does not have reliable cell service. They got broadband in ~2018 Nobody really knows the acronym NPR, and if they did, they would call you something very homophobic for listening to it
