For the passerby: these images are hosted on an EVM co-processer we call a "ship." It's a purely functional ACID database; a stateless function operating over an event log (like a blockchain). It both stores the data and serves the html.

Where is the data ultimately stored? Like, some AWS server and this is a disintermediation layer? Or if not, can I run my own node/check my data?

Happy to answer direct questions too. It's quite different than other systems!
