What does optimism mean to you? For me, optimism, while powerful, can sometimes tip into toxic positivity—or even into cultivating certain behaviors to feel good, like using drugs, which was my go-to for many years. Looking back, I now realize this was a way to avoid necessary challenges or suppress emotions that needed attention. That comforting "everything will be fine" mindset felt good in the moment, but it left me unprepared for the realities I needed to face to truly grow and thrive. Now, I understand that real growth isn’t about ignoring the shadows—it’s about meeting them with curiosity, courage, and compassion. Does your light shines brighter when you make space for the full spectrum of your experiences?

Every time I am triggered, I can do one of two things with it: 1) I can attack, dismiss or get away from whoever or whatever is triggering me. 2) I can stay with the emotion and work it through. Those are my choices. If I do the first thing, if I withdraw or attack, I’m simply perpetuating my victimhood. What would the world be like if we were all responsive & responsible?

I'm pondering on this... The Productivity Paradox: Work longer, get less done. Parkinson's Law says that work expands to fill the time allotted for its completion. When you establish fixed hours to your work, you find unproductive ways to fill it. Work like a lion / lioness instead—sprint, rest, repeat.
