If you're a Dev on Farcaster or Startup building here my DM's are always open to help. I debug code, build features or full products and would love to help you succeed! No strings attached. To see case studies who I worked with: dtech.vision That webpage also has a blog with Farcaster Docs

Agreed! I think FC needs Avalanche more than Avalanche needs FC

Fully agreed for Farcaster the client. And this feels like a client subscription (a la X). The "protocol" already has fees (even if they aren't actually directed to the cost of running the protocol).

Maybe the best way to put it: not one person I've talked to in the ecosystem has mentioned a token price. It's professionals from all walks of life coming together to run an ecosystem and a business. The [felt] goal is enablement through technology; not decentralized ideals nor degen hype.

Follow up then - why are those enforced at the protocol? Is it purely the economics of storage costs?

I'm increasingly confused and fearful of what feels like a shrinking delineation between Farcaster the "protocol" and Farcaster the client. The stated features feel like client features. In what ways will other clients adopt these protocol changes?

They have a heavy institutional lean and might be one of the only ecosystems *actually* bringing in non-web3 players (e.g. the California DMV) So a microcosm of existing web3 degens won't do much for them πŸ˜… Differently - Avalanche the chain isn't the focus. It's about helping others build L1s (fka subnets)

πŸ’― exactly - would be great to have their voices here, but frankly I don't think they see any reason to

I'm increasingly convinced @avalanche culture is the best of web3 right now. Unbothered. Moisturized. Happy. In their own lane. Focused. Flourishing. And not on FC.

I feel all of this πŸ˜… As a related aside, this infra isn't going anywhere. We're ~1 solid customer from being back to cash flow neutral And FC is <1% of the overall costs -> will likely run indefinitely. As far as infra goes, FC data is a drop in the bucket compared to any other open data set What sets us apart from say an Airstack is we don't serve APIs -> meaning we don't have the databases overhead that everyone else does. By leaning into distributed compute, our costs are near negligible even at small scales

Weirdly convinced one of my sons and I are immune. No matter the exposure (rest of the family got it multiple times), vaccine, etc we never got sick nor tested positive

lol yeah they've been quietly working on their web3 game for a couple years now Nalin and his team are leading it up. A bit aimless imo, but they've been trying a lot πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
