Dear Villagers! v0.4 More Life is live!
What's added:
1. Rock Passports -> now you can issue a passport for your beloved rock! Passports have 4 rarity types: common, uncommon, rare and legendary.
There are 15 exclusive legendary passports (including custom passports from @m00npapi.eth, @yema, @agrimony.eth and I'm also waiting on two more haha, can you guess who they are??)
With passport, your pet rock will acquire 3 traits and 6 preferences. Rarity affects each one. So for example, common passports don't have any specific details in their passports while uncommon and rare ones do have. Rare passports can inherit some legendary traits too. Also, your rock will choose a name by itself, but you are able to change it (only once!)
Passports are offchain right now to allow fast iterations and bug fixing. Supply isn't limited, but everything will eventually move onchain
2. Interactions. You can interact with other villagers through their journals (tap on any villager to open theirs). There are 7 interactions for now. Each one gives you relationship points, and the higher your points, the more interactions you unlock. My favorite? Backflip!
3. Ms. Kitty -> this is the 5th concept from my notebook (NPC villagers). Let me introduce to you the first NPC villager - Ms. Kitty! She's doing all the paperwork in Town Hall while Mr. Mayor is away. You can also ask her to issue a passport! For now, it's all she can do for the villagers but she's only learning!
NPC functionality unlocks cutscenes for PRL since I was doing a lot of work with camera lol. More to come here for sure
4. Town Hall building -> come visit and see all the selfies from the village. Make sure to talk with Ms. Kitty!
5. Buildings got signs! The Blue Tavern and Town Hall now have signs, so it’s easier to find your way around.
6. Settings -> now you can turn the music on/off, play with Graphics settings to unlock Sunset Village (on 'High' graphics mode, warning: might burn your phone)
7. Pause Menu -> finally you are able to return to main menu from the game
8. Tutorial -> when you first visit the village you will see a help message explaining what is Pet Rock Life. Hope it will clarify a lot of questions for new villagers
9. Buildings pickups -> they became more intuitive (like in GTA San Andreas)
10. Improved physics (now your rock can push other villagers too)
I didn't finish a few other features (for example, need to add Mini Bert hat), so I will continue working on them in near future. Also, I will work on the contest thing since it requires me to finish the Quests concept (I wanted to introduce it in this update but this takes a LOT of time)
Roadmap in near future: quests, food and drinks for your pet rock, Rock Spa Salon, nighttime and bugfixes with global optimization
About my previous secret idea: I placed a sign 'Vacant' near the Blue Tavern. Yes, remember I said about my crazy idea? Soon, you will be able to buy a business in Pet Rock Village and no, I'm not kidding. I have grand plans on this one
I've already noticed a few bugs, but I'll fix them in the next few days. By the way, the game might take a while to load (especially on cellular). It's best to play on Wi-Fi 21 replies
