Ethereum's 2026 plan has two main goals.
Boost rollup data space with blobs.
And raise the base-layer gas limit for more execution.
This gas limit increase relies on validators.
They must switch to verifying ZK proofs, not re-running blocks.
The first step, Fusaka, launched in December 2025.
It sets the foundation for this expansion.
