I stopped thinking of food as “good” or “bad” about three years ago. Around the same time, I quit social media (well, except Farcaster 🫶 ). I’m pretty sure those two things are connected 😁
Food as a tool of manipulation, yeah, I see that too. Sometimes it feels like the whole thing is set up so we can all commiserate over the same food guilt and confusion. Why not throw racial narratives into the mix too? Same playbook, they know what they’re doing.
That doesn’t mean I live on fast food now, obviously not. But at least I don’t beat myself up anymore for giving in to a burger or a pastry once in a while.
I remember reading somewhere that a super healthy walnut can literally kill someone if they’re allergic to it, while a “terrible” burger could save a person who hasn’t eaten in three days. I think that’s when something just clicked and rewired in my head.
