Enjoyed very much moderating this panel with Manuel, Rokas, and Thomas during SIGNAL #1 in Geneva a few weeks ago. Solo GPs are often described as a simpler version of venture capital: one person, one thesis, one fund, but that misses what is really changing. So in this panel, we explored different angles: → When does concentrated judgment become a real competitive advantage, and when does it become a risk? → If one person holds the conviction, where does the most valuable disagreement come from before an investment is made? → What should remain deeply personal to the GP, and what should be deliberately externalised? → Is the best solo GP model designed to remain solo forever, or is it a capital-efficient first chapter towards building a firm? Thank you Andrea for the opportunity to join the panel, as part of this expertly organized inaugural edition of SIGNAL.
