trying to run an nft marketplace absolutely kicking my ass rn spent 6 hours hunting for a bug and it was fixed by code that SHOULDNT have fixed it cause it was not functionality different than the old code

This type of thing that makes me hate “programming” “building” “technology” At least in other disciplines when you drain half a day on a thorny problem you learn something What is there even to be learned here? Like did you come away edified in any way? Do you have a better understanding of web development now? I never feel like I do? 😂 💀

The actual answer for this is something in the environment changed, could have been old code on the client or in the cache, could have been a silently failing deployment etc. There are lessons to be learned but it's a question of how much time to spend investigating but there is always something to be learned. https://www.gamedeveloper.com/programming/my-hardest-bug-ever
