Every day my daughter does something else that really amazes me. At just nine weeks old, the strides she makes in her growth feel better than any accomplishment I have made in my own life. 

Her pediatrician literally teared up today because of how impressed she was with how well my little Eve is doing. 

I knew the pride a father could feel in his child was supposed to be intense emotion but I sort of thought it’d be a joy with diminishing returns, that you’d get used to it. Maybe I will. But right now it’s just incredible.

What does it say about a society that dissuades people from experiencing this?

It seduces you into trading one of the purest forms of joy for an array of sensory pleasures (masked as freedom)

At the end of the day, individual choice must reign supreme. But we ought to cherish how deeply human it is to have children

Having kids is without a doubt the single most rewarding experience I have ever gone through, and I'm less than 2 months in. It's a ton of work but easily is worth it.
