On Saturday night (27 December), the Bangladesh Weather Observation Team (BWOT) shared this information in a post on Facebook. The post further stated that the cold wave may last from 28 December to 7 January, or from 31 December to 7 January. It is expected to be most active in many areas of the Rajshahi and Khulna divisions. In addition, the cold wave may remain quite active in the Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, as well as in Gopalganj, Faridpur, Rajbari, Madaripur, Tangail, Manikganj, Brahmanbaria, Cumilla, Chandpur, and surrounding areas. It is likely to be less active in several areas of the Barishal and Chattogram divisions. However, although cold weather will prevail, the cold wave is not expected to be very active in the country’s entire coastal region, Dhaka city, Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, and Chattogram.
