Want to add some optimism to the market, especially after the news that Morgan Stanley is launching a Bitcoin ETF.
Here’s a concise take inspired by Jeff Park , Head of Investment Strategy at Bitwise:
1) The market is bigger than we thought
Launching a “vanilla” ETF years after a liquidity leader is extremely rare.
Even though IBIT became the fastest ETF ever to reach $80B AUM (≈5x faster than VOO), Morgan Stanley still sees significant unmet demand based on its internal research.
That alone suggests we’re still early.
2) Bitcoin matters socially, not just financially
There are barely any branded gold ETFs, yet Bitcoin has many.
Why? A Bitcoin ETF signals a firm is forward-thinking and bold, helping attract UHNW clients and top talent.
Even if MS’s ETF isn’t a blockbuster, the branding and ecosystem benefits (E-Trade, trading, tokenization) are huge.
