Iwuchukwu Amara Tochi was a Nigerian aspiring footballer executed in Singapore on Jan. 26, 2007, at age 21 for drug trafficking. Arrested in 2004 at Changi Airport with 727g of heroin, he claimed he thought the capsules were African herbs for a friend and was unaware of the drugs. Despite appeals from Nigeria, the UN, and activists, his conviction was upheld under strict laws.
