To all the vibe coders and ChatGPT enjoyers,
I noticed that when my chat sessions in ChatGPT got too long, the browser would start lagging pretty badly. Normally I’d just start a new chat, but losing all the context was always annoying.
So I made this Chrome extension (availability on the Chrome store pending). It’s open source and free.
The issue is that ChatGPT renders every single message in the thread whether you’re looking at them or not. This extension lets you pick how many recent messages stay fully rendered. The rest get hidden as lightweight placeholders that you can click to view when needed.
If you deal with long threads too, feel free to check it out!
