Overlanding to Alaska was the inspiration behind building the camping platform in the back of my 4runner. Never did get around to making the Alaska trip.

Alaska is a different beast. Especially the route I wanted to take (The Dalton Highway). Looking back I'm glad I never foolishly made that attempt. I would of been most likely ill-prepared. These guys did a really cool series 10 years ago of documenting the entire journey. Worth it alone just for the Alaska content https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUq01YkX61Q

I've considered going this time but unlikely to be able to make time for it so has to be a next time thing. At this point, we've done enough off road stuff that the highway itself doesn't worry me that much based on everything I've read about it. It just adds more time to the trip that we don't have unfortunately

Oh for sure. its nothing extreme. Its just extremely long, isolated, and consistantly rugged enough to require more than 06 4runner suspension lol.
