A bit early. But for anyone who might be planning a trip to Japan. I’ll be having a tiny solo exhibition in Fukuoka from 15-25 October 2026 at Nekochikura gallery. Time 11:00-18:00 Closed on Mon Tue Wed All of the exhibiting pieces are my handmade interactive hardware toys (which I’m still making counting down to the exhibition). I’ll keep sharing the process here as usual. Some of the pieces might be available online. I’ll keep you updated with the info ✨ I will be mainly in Tokyo and going back and forth to Fukuoka. Now she is blinking ✨ I use 2 HyperPixel round displays for her eyes. Each needs a Pi Zero to operate separately. Then I sync them but with another Pi5 which will be her brain to control her other components as well. My pixel art flower animation looks nice as her eyes 🩵✨

Quietly creating ✨ I have finished the technical architecture design, and now putting in some components. The character sheet and back story are ready too. Lots of no visual work behind the scene. It’s going to be a lot of work toward my solo exhibition in October in Japan 🎀

I have been in traditional art in Japan since 2015, exhibiting in art fairs, winning awards, doing acrylic paintings, illustrations for agent, and brands in Osaka, etc. Since I turned digital and now doing interactive toy + hardware art + coding, people in trad art don’t understand me and don’t call me an artist anymore. They thought I quitted making art. To be honest, art, artist, creator, blah blah blah, whatever words I don’t really care. In fact I’m quite bored of being defined by others. I just want to keep creating what makes me feel fun and alive. At the end of the day, being an outcast of the art world gives me creative freedom and I’m enjoying it 😆
