At first, I was upset and anxious to spend less time here. My years here have been fruitful. I've made many friends, learned a lot, but also wasted a lot of time. Its not that I went back to posting on Twitter or anything, I've literally just been spending quality time elsewhere, both online and offline, in person, by myself, nurturing existing relationships and meeting new ones where they are. Online life today provides less value for me (and everyone else) beyond reading updates to new capabilities and then experimenting with them. If I were to give a few pieces of genuine advice, which I rarely do since readers rarely appreciate them through their actions, I would say this: Create small(er) circles and build. Build locally as quickly as possible. Get offline as much as possible. Do not waste time, you've done that enough. It didn't work then, it won't work now. Be as curious as possible, until it physically and emotionally and spiritually hurts. Question your idea of what "making a living" means.
