The Firefly Graveyard A few years ago, I found this place. Every summer, right after sunset, the forest would start blinking β€” like walking inside a Christmas tree. I went back three years in a row, learning how to photograph the fireflies. This photo was from the last summer before the pandemic. During the lockdown, streetlights were installed. When I returned a year later, the bright white LEDs were on β€” in a rural area with almost no houses. And the fireflies were gone.

ITAP a meteor by aciddent I hiked this mountain in the afternoon to catch the sunset. Started the descent after dark β€” I love walking through the forest at night, with just the silence, cold air, and my flashlight. Near the end of the trail, I looked back and saw the Milky Way rising behind the mountain. Just enough time to set up the camera and take one shot. Later, editing at home, I saw a meteor had crossed the sky right when I clicked.
