The Firefly Graveyard A few years ago, I found this place. Every summer, right after sunset, the forest would start blinking — like walking inside a Christmas tree. I went back three years in a row, learning how to photograph the fireflies. This photo was from the last summer before the pandemic. During the lockdown, streetlights were installed. When I returned a year later, the bright white LEDs were on — in a rural area with almost no houses. And the fireflies were gone.
