Base App, Data Availability (DA) is guaranteed by Ethereum L1 ,every tx batch posted by the OP Stack sequencer is stored immutably on-chain.
No DA layer = no security. Base chose L1 for maximum trust.
When the sequencer finalizes a batch, it posts:
Tx calldata (compressed)
State root after execution
Block metadata for replay
This ensures any honest node can reconstruct the full chain state independently.
Why it matters:
If a malicious sequencer censors or reorders transactions, the availability of raw calldata on L1 means fraud proofs can still be generated and verified.
Bottom line,Base App’s DA design =
Ethereum-grade security
L2-level scalability
Future-ready for modular upgrades (Celestia / EigenDA integration possible)
Secure data → Secure users.
