Base App uses OP Stack’s compression pipeline to slash L1 calldata costs by up to 40–60%.
How? By batching & compressing transactions before posting to Ethereum.
Pipeline steps:
Aggregate txs in sequencer mempool
Encode in RLP/Delta format
Apply Brotli compression
Publish as calldata on L1
Why it matters:
Lower calldata = lower L1 fees → cheaper transactions for end-users without compromising Ethereum’s security guarantees.
Result:
Base App tx fees often stay under $0.05 while inheriting full Ethereum settlement.
