As a Jungian hermeticist myself, I do believe God to be an existing otherworldly force, but I also see Deity as the representation of the capital S Self, aka the whole and integrated unconscious we all aspire to. Obviously as our society and environment changes, so too will that symbol of the Self fork and evolve (as above so below)
