While reading anaesthesiology today, I came across my favourite anaesthetic — propofol. Propofol has this way of making you transcend your normal limits, like you’ve drifted into some ethereal realm. I’ve seen it in action multiple times, and it’s unforgettable. The funniest moment I’ll never forget was when a patient started confessing mid-sedation about their cheating habits and how their partner caught them and used it for blackmail. We had no idea what to do with that information, so we just let it slide. When they woke up and started asking questions, we acted like we hadn’t heard a thing — no point ruining their mood. I’m sure other medics can relate. Some drugs have wild side effects — heroin as a truth serum, or the LSD OGs who seem to transcend earthly reality altogether. Any stories from the crew?
