Altruism is so underrated and overlooked, but it’s also the easiest thing for people to take advantage of. I hate that second part. I know how often people overlook someone’s altruistic nature — because I’ve been there. I’ve done a lot of acts of altruism, and I’ve gotten mixed returns. Some people try to use it against me. Others are so genuinely grateful they never forget how much it meant to them. At the end of the day, I still do it. It’s just in my genes. It’s what feels right to me, and it feels good to me.
