LAfter a rough week in my Word A Day challenge, most of my examples didn’t exactly hit the nail on the head. But oh well — no point crying over spilt milk.
One thing I know we’ll always need in life is the ability to commiserate with one another. To sit with people when they’re having the worst days, to understand and show up for them. It’s not easy, but it’s one of the skills that makes us human and keeps us sane.
Imagine someone going through the roughest period of their life and everyone just looks away. That’s when they need us most. I really believe this is one of the best ways we can help each other.
No one says it out loud because we all feel busy. But that one small moment you take to share in someone’s grief when they’re hurting? That’s enough to start the healing process for some people.
