Information percolates too fast these days. You can’t tell someone something and expect it to stay with them. It’ll percolate slowly, drip by drip, until everyone knows. It may not spread like wildfire like a rumor, but it gets there. Remember that registrar from school? No ring = "she’s divorced." Then she’s pregnant a few months later and suddenly everyone goes quiet. Later we found out her husband, a doctor at another hospital, never left her. They’re fine. Moral of the story: let things *percolate* through facts first, not gossip. Such is life, men.
