Absolutely.
One risk I could see with coins is needing to go viral to actually generate meaningful income. If that ends up being the world we live in, we're kind of right back to the internet of today, where everyone is in a race for the bottom, constantly trying to go viral (vs., say, deliver something more substantive to a small, core group of people that care deeply).
