franklin templeton gave ritual the cleanest third-party validation any ai + blockchain project has received this cycle
their thesis is straightforward: agentic ai is the actual killer use case for crypto. not payments and nfts and defi 2.0. autonomous agents that can reason, act, and settle value without a human in the loop.
they then list the exact infrastructure requirements those agents will need:
- autonomous fulfillment
- verifiable identity
- auditability
- native compute access
- settlement speed
that list is not a generic wishlist. it’s a near-perfect summary of what ritual has been building since day one.
franklin templeton (and almost every other institution) still evaluates chains primarily through the lens of tps and transaction cost. that framing is outdated for agentic systems.
