Ah, the memories.. Oh, and what about the time the AG who took a bribe to let off the profiteers who stole everyone's houses in 2008, campaigned for president on a $40k home loan assistance plan? We're so spoiled for choice πŸ™„

I'm confused. Is there not enough liquid in there to get the spinach to pulse into the blade?

Yeah, it's a trade-off. But that just goes to prove the point right? Both commentors are saying that FC is valuable to you because of the people you meet here. Not the gambling, micro-payments, leet clubs for people with extra $, etc. If people come here for the former, just to have real human connection drowned out by hyper-financialization, it undermines the core social value of the app. FC becomes less awesome for all of us when awesome people like Ferran are driven away.

For sure. And lots of folks have been pretty vocal about the issue for a long time.. It's sad and frustrating to see these waves of awesome people leave, over and over as the roadmap evolves.

You'll be missed here. See you around! πŸ–€ It's a shame to see this app hemorrhaging users who prefer conversation and community over whatever tf has been on Farcaster's priority list lately.

The most revealing part of today is Musk essentially admitting that buying Twitter wasn’t about making it a better and more open social network, but rather about entrenching the status quo and amplifying an authoritarian, right-wing agenda. Today opens another opportunity for Farcaster to differentiate from X and Musk. Will probably not happen.

What an amazing effort. Wish I could give more rn! (I was a bassoonist in school, but was never able to afford one of my own. The struggle is real!)

Theil and the Oligarchs tech fascism is the opposite of decentralization and should be fought politically by all who care about freedom and privacy. "The Trump administration has tapped Palantir β€” the notorious data-mining firm co-founded by billionaire tech investor Peter Thiel β€” to compile information on people in the United States for a "master database," creating an easy way to cross-reference sensitive data from tax records, immigration records and more. Palantir also has a $30 million contract with ICE to provide almost real-time visibility into immigrants' movements as the agency seeks to arrest 3,000 people a day. Wired reporter Makena Kelly says the company is "becoming an operation system for the entire government," and describes how Palantir's contracts with the Trump administration are an outgrowth of work done by Elon Musk's DOGE which aims to "centralize data all across government." https://youtu.be/v5gyhQ1JLnU?feature=shared

Everyone's astonished at the price tag.. Most people can't believe a bassoon costs that much. The musicians can't believe you found one so cheap πŸ˜‚

Not a scam. They're legit, good folks who've been working hard for years on lots of tooling we all use. But their comms are truly awful. They constantly promote and shill, while ignoring huge numbers of complaints and support requests (many of them from backers).
